NIGHT IN QUESTION Episode 3-10 (1st Run)
Written by Gary Stephen Riect
Directed by Nicholas J. Gray
Post Production Release: November 08, 1995
Guest Starring Melante Nicholls-King as Dr. Turner
Prologue:
A victim, shot in the head, is hurriedly rolled into the emergency room.
After resuscitation fails; Dr. Turner pronounces, "Death occurred at 12:36
am. The victim is Metro Police Detective Nicholas Knight." And so begins the
night in question for our friends in Toronto.
The Story:
In the E.R. waiting room, a grieving Tracy and Reese try and recap the deadly
night. She tells how they were following up on a lead at a parade float
warehouse, when the fatal shot rang out. An upset Tracy can't remember seeing
the shooter.
A nurse is about to prepare Nick for the morgue, when he begins to move. (A
scrambled brain can't stop our Nick!) She calls for Dr. Turner, but Natalie
arrives in time to take care of things. The miracle man begins to heal before
they get him to surgery. Now, how do we cover all this up? No problem; Dr.
LaCroix arrives and gets Dr. Turner's heart thumping. He tells her that
X-rays are sometimes flawed and the bullet actually bounced off of the
Detective's thick skull. She is to say he is a remarkable case and when he
regains conciseness, she is to release him. She relates the good news to
Tracy, Reese and Natalie. Natalie sees Dr. LaCroix go by and he gives her a
nod.
Dr. LaCroix goes to Nichola's room, where he must perform a fatherly blood
transfer to hurry his return to full physical form. It seems that LaCroix
owes Nick one. He recalls the Napoleonic-Russian campaign where he was about
to feed on a dying solder. The soldier recognizes him as a vampire and
impales Lucien in the heart with a wooden stake. Later, we learn that
Nicholas, with reservation, removes the stake from the dying LaCroix. He
gives LaCroix a blood transfer to hurry his recovery to full physical form.
When Natalie goes to see the now conscience Nick, she discovers that Nick has
lost all but his short term memory. He doesn't know her or anyone else. He
doesn't even know he's a vampire! Later, when Natalie sees him eating
hospital food, she thinks he may no longer be a vampire. She is going back to
the --if your brain doesn't know you're a vampire, then you aren't-- theory.
Natalie ponders the possibilities and takes Nick home in hopes something will
jog his memory. Keeping him from taking a morning run is also on her mind.
Later, Nick thinks that he and Nat have a relationship, but she tells him
they are just good friends. You can see the wheels turning as she wonders if
it would be safe to be with him.
At the 96th precinct house, Tracy is questioned about the shooting. Anything
she can remember becomes very important when it's learned the bullet was a
*Teflon cop killer*. The question arises --who wanted Nick dead?
Will Nick regain his memory? Is he still a vampire? Will Natalie take the
chance to be with Nick? (You know what I mean!) Who shot Nick and why?

enemies?" -LaCroix
Review **** This is a fine episode, dare I say a great episode. It could be
one of the top 10 best. I think most FK fans are going to enjoy this one a
bunch. All the main characters have an equal and important part in this
excellent story. Janette could have provided a good flashback, but I fear
Duchene is no longer available for this series. This is vintage Forever
Knight. Sorry, Vachon was in Madrid getting a profile and there weren't any
nude girls! :)
