Narrator -"Will a young Native woman remove Nick's curse--or turn him into a
ruthless killer? -Forever Knight-" By LH
Guest Stars: Denis LaCroix as Jess and Michelle Thrush as Marian
- An elder of the Mississauga tribe is brutally murdered.
- His Granddaughter, Marian, sees him die in a realistic dream plane known
as The Spirit Walk; where all remain young. She doesn't see the killer.
- His protest over the use of Mississauga land, to build a super mall,
seems to be the reason for the murder.
- The murdered elder, Gary Blackwing, claimed to have had a letter that
would prove ownership of the land, but no one knows where he put it.
- Tracy sees Vachon, on TV, at a protest rally against the developers. He
tells a TV reporter that he knows the land belongs to the tribe and it
will be proved when the letter is found.
- Nick, Natalie and Tracy are assigned to the case.
- Natalie finds an antique knife set made from volcanic ash. One is missing
and she suspects it might be the murder weapon.
- Nick reaches for the remaining knife and gets a zap from the handle that
is shaped like a raven, the power animal of the medicine man. --Hmmmm!
- Marian arrives, and when Nick holds her arm for comfort, they are both
taken to the Spirit Plane where Marian sees the evil from Nick's past!
- Marian sees the darkness that surrounds Nick. Jess, Blackwing's friend,
tells Nick that Marian has the gift of healing and can cure him of the
darkness that surrounds him.
- Tracy gets a little jealous because of Marian's interest in Nick.
- While driving, Nick slips into the Spirit Plane where he sees Marian.
- He flies to her bedroom. --Now, we're talking!
- She takes him to the Spirit Plane where he is no longer effected by the
sun. Marian performs a blood ritual that removes Nick's darkness.
- Nick calls Natalie, from his apartment, and tells her what happened and
that he has changed. --Be careful Nick!
- Nat is not so sure and tells him to stay out of the sun. --Sizzle!
- In the meanwhile, Marian looks into the mirror and sees evil in her eyes.
- Vachon tells Tracy a story of how he was there when the Mississauga
signed the land treaty.
- There are other murders and Nick sees them in the Spirit Walk. He thinks
he might have committed them.
- LaCroix tries to burst Nick's bubble by telling the story of an Indian
legend. It's about a Raven that is turned black and it will always be
black. --Nick will always be a vampire!
- Is Vachon involved in the killings?
- Is Nick involved in the killings?
- Will the truth be revealed in the Spirit Walk?
- Will the letter be found?
- Is Nick's darkness finally gone forever?
Review **** This might be the best Forever Knight episode yet. I just watched
'Blackwing' twice and it has left me kind of sad. Gillian has written an
amazing story that pulls at all your emotions. I almost want to break my rule
of *4 stars high* and give it a 5 -- I guess I just did!
Everyone is used well in this play, and the direction of Allan Kroeker is
just right. The guest stars are perfect as the characters Jess and Marian.
Jess is a serious sage with a Schanke sense of humor. Marian is a pretty
young girl with the gift of a healer; and she knows what's ailing Nick.
I think you will find little fault with this episode. Gillian's research into
Native American folklore and artifacts can be trusted; and she can sure weave
a fascinating story around them.
